$10 Gold Liberty Coronet Eagles - 1838 to 1907

In 1838 the $10 gold piece was redesigned front and back, and the coin's weight and diameter were reduced. Miss Liberty now faces left, and a coronet with the word "LIBERTY" replaces Liberty's cap.

Designer Christian Goldbrecht; weight 16.718 grams; composition: .900 gold, .100 copper; diameter 27 mm; reeded edge. Net weight, .48375 oz. of pure gold.
