Bela Lyon Pratt designed the $2.50 Gold Indian Eagle, using a Native American motif for the front while a majestic Eagle adorns the reverse. This coin is similar to the $5.00 Half Eagle in its design. The coin has no raised edge. The sunken (incused) letters and devices used in the design make these coins a truly unique series in our American coin heritage.

Weight: 4.18 grams; composition .900 gold, .100 copper; diameter 18 mm; reeded edge; net weight; .12094 oz. pure gold.
