Bela Lyon Pratt designed the $5 Gold Indian Eagle, using a Native American motif for the front while a majestic Eagle adorns the reverse. This coin is similar to the $2.50 Quarter Eagle in its design. The coin has no raised edge. The sunken (incused) letters and devices used in the design make these coins a truly unique series in our American coin heritage.

Weight: 8.359 grams; composition .900 gold, .100 copper; diameter 21.6 mm; reeded edge; net weight; .24187 oz. pure gold.
